The successful experience of the Kyiv-Budapest contrailer trip open the way for a stable connection

The first contrailer trip connecting Kyiv and the BILK Rail Cargo Group terminal in Budapest was completed. Transportation of semitrailers was carried out with overloading from specialized 1520 mm wagons to a 1435 mm Eurogauge standard platform at the Chop station of the "Lisky" TSC branch. An interesting feature of the new service is the transportation of non-cranable semi-trailers was the first time for eurowagons.

The trailer train, equipped with VTG and r2L technology of the VEGA company, transported semitrailers with construction materials from Kyiv to Budapest. Overloading of semitrailers at the Chop station was carried out by SunSmart technical specialists based on the patented overloading technology for non-cranable semitrailers.

Within the scope of the memorandum between Ukrzaliznytsia and RCA, representatives of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia", the Austrian railway company Rail Cargo Austria, the Hungarian railway company Rail Cargo Hungary and the German wagon operator VTG were present during the transshipment.

During testing, everything worked as it should, and this trip becomes the new gateway to the route to Vienna.
